Fix Server DNS Address Could Not Be Found and This Site Can't be Reached Chrome Browser. Also, fix ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.
Many a time you may face some annoying issues of Server DNS not found, ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED, Site cannot be reached err_connection_timed_out, took too long to respond, Fix “Aw, Snap!” page crashes and other page loading errors etc.
. DNS actually stands for Domain Name Servers which loads the web pages from the host (the one where web pages are stored in the cloud). If you have a slow internet connectivity or due to some other issues your browser may show up an error and may not be able to connect to the host. This can happen even if you have a very good internet connectivity.
Today I have come up with a couple of fixes to solve the issue.
Best Ways to Fix Site Can’t be Reached

Some Other Methods
If the methods above don’t work for you then try some other methods listed below.
1. Uninstall Antivirus
Some people reported that after uninstalling their Antivirus program (mostly McAfee) the problem was gone.
2. Disable Your Firewall
Disabling the firewalls may solve the problem as some app may interfere when the Chrome is trying to connect. This could be the solution for you too. Disable your firewall and check for the error.
3. Try Connecting in Safe Mode
Boot your computer into safe mode and try to load Chrome. This will help you determine if any third party software is causing the issue as the safe mode will only consist of inbuilt useful files. To do this reboot your computer and hold down the F8 key. Then select Safe mood with networking from the list of options.

Note & Conclusion: I hope the post was helpful, do comment below for any assistance required in fixing the DNS error issue.
Hi all,
Something has happened this year because there are a couple of US sites I hardly can open or not at all from Portugal. I contacted one site owner (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed) with the same problem, but they cannot reproduce it, and they don't understand why this happens. I can open a wide variety of worldwide sites from this Windows 10 laptop, but there are some notorious sites such as www.cnn.com which absolutely do not load either with Firefox or with Google Chrome. For instance, in a new empty tab, cnn.com does not do anything, remains white, does not even do a loading. Just flashes and remains as if I did not even hit the enter.
When using Google Chrome, it is different because an error message pops up. It displays: This site can’t be reached
The connection was reset.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
The connection was reset.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
I run the tests but they return always: Troubleshooting could not identify the problem (e.g. I am trying to reach a specific site: cnn.com).
Sometimes I get this:
The connection has timed out
The server at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

This is again untrue, because the site is up and running. But I can easily open other sites. Why I cannot open now these sites like cnn.com?
Cheers and thanx in advance
After installing Windows 10, I am continuously getting the 'server DNS address could not be found' error.
I will be able to use the Internet for 4-5 minutes, and after that for 20-25 min I will get the above error.
How do I resolve this issue?

There might be a problem with your DNS servers of the ISP. A computer by default uses the ISP's DNS servers. You can manually configure your DNS servers. It is free and usually better than your ISP.
- Go to Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network and Sharing Centre
- Click on Change Adapter settings.
- Right click on your connection icon (Wireless Network Connection or Local Area Connection) and select properties.
- Select Internet protocol version 4.
- Click on 'Use the following DNSserver address' and type either of the two DNS given below.
Google Public DNS

Steps to manually configure DNS:
- You can access Network and Sharing center by right clicking on the Network icon on the taskbar.
- Now choose adapter settings from the side menu.
- This will give you a list of the available network adapters in the system . From them right click on the adapter you are using to connect to the internet now and choose properties option.
- In the networking tab choose ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’.
- Now you can see the properties dialogue box showing the properties of IPV4. Here you need to change some properties.Select ‘use the following DNS address’ option. Now fill the following fields as given here.Preferred DNS server:
208.67.222.222
Alternate DNS server :208.67.220.220
This is an available Open DNS address. You may also use google DNS server addresses. After filling these fields. Check the ‘validate settings upon exit’ option. Now click OK.
You have to add this DNS server address in the router configuration also (by referring the router manual for more information).
Refer : for above method & alternative
If none of this works, then open command prompt(Run as Administrator) and run these:
Hopefully that fixes it, if its still not fixed there is a chance that its a NIC related issue(driver update or h/w).
